About Dr. Link Welborn
Dr. Link Welborn, owner of five AAHA Accredited small animal hospitals in Tampa, Florida, is a past president of the American Animal Hospital Association and a member of VMG 1.
A diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, certified in Canine and Feline practice, he earned his doctorate of veterinary medicine with honors from the University of Florida.
Link currently serves in various leadership roles for AAHA and AVMA including serving as the chair of the AAHA Canine Vaccine Guidelines Task Force and as a member and past chair of the AVMA Veterinary Economics Strategy Committee.
Link has received the AVMA President’s Award, American Animal Hospital Association Practitioner of the Year Award, University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine Alumni Achievement Award, and Florida Veterinary Medical Association Veterinarian of the Year Award.
Underwater photography and attending Tampa Bay Buccaneer football games are among his favorite activities. He lives in Tampa with his wife, Laura. His daughter, Kaitlin, graduated from Yale Law School and is a civil litigation attorney at Hogan Lovells in Washington, DC. His son, Christopher, is a military intelligence officer in the US Army.
